what about MJ?

class highlight of the day: public speaking

i was the only speaker today. mood: anxious. flabbergasted. my language sounds wierd to my ears.
mdm T: now, could you please tell your audience a little bit about your hobby?
me: okay. well, since i've been here, all i do is surf the net.
mdm T: what do you do then?
me: well, i just read the news. you know, i just open yahoo! and start looking for international news.
mdm T: any news?
me: yeah, any news.
mdm T: okay. can you tell us something about michael jackson then?
me: *blur mode* i'm sorry, what?
mdm T: share with your audience what you know about him. what made people call him the king of pop?
me: oh. right. um, well, for starters, michael jackson is dead. did you know that [starts pointing at someone]?
random someone: um, yea.
me: okay, do you like michael jackson then [points at rusmi]?
rusmi: absolutely not! i mean, why do we even care about him anyway? i don't even like him or his music. he's dead, so let him be dead.
me: [to the audience] do you all like michael jackson then?
audience: NO!!!!
mdm T: i do!
me: oh no! this is sad. seems like there's only one of us who like the king of pop. now, he started his carrer in the music industry with the jackson 5. could you name me one song from them?
mdm T: who? michael jackson himself or the jackson 5?
me: the jackson 5, please.
mdm T: i'll be there.
me: oh, you'll be there.
mdm T: no lah! the song's called 'i'll be there'.
me: *laughs* oh.. yeah!

well, personally, i don't care about michael jackson that much. that guy was just being overrated by the press. that question was seriously unexpected. guess i should change my hobby from now on. or maybe be more careful in choosing my words.

but then again, i guess i'm just having a really bad day. i woke up this morning at 7.05 am, knowing that i have a linear programming class at 7am. seeing that my journey would probably take half-an-hour, so i tried to come to that class but to my dismay, i arrived at my faculty at 8am. and my class had been dismissed.
